Job Overview:
The Clinical Documentation Specialist Manager is responsible for the Clinical Documentation Management program for four hospitals across a region, increasing program awareness to the entire hospital staff. They must fully understand the data collection, analysis for the hospital, and physician profiling. They will support ongoing communication and education on documentation opportunities, coding and reimbursement issues as well as performance improvement methodologies to the entire hospital staff.
The Clinical Documentation Specialist Manager will oversee the performance and expectations of the CDI Specialists and work in conjunction with the CDS Teams; Health Information Management /Coding Professionals; Physicians; Physician Assistants; and Licensed Registered Nurse Practitioners to ensure compliant, accurate and timely clinical documentation in the Medical Record by supporting the Coding Process,
Qualifications
Requirements:
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing Required
New Jersey Registered Nurse License Required
Certification CDIP or CCDS preferred or must obtain within one year in the position
Prior experience as a Clinical Documentation Specialist required, a minimum of two years preferred
Prior use and understanding of ICD-10-CM coding requirements
Passing grade on Nuance Competency Exam
Preferred:
A minimum 5 years' acute hospital experience as a clinical nurse preferred
A minimum 2 years' supervisory experience preferred
Certifications and Licenses Required:
New Jersey Registered Nurse License Required
Certification CDIP or CCDS preferred or must obtain within one year in the position
